THE FARMHOUSE "LA TCHAVANA"

A history dedicated to agriculture and livestock breeding, generations and generations of Bagnods have handed down experiences and production methods that have given rise to some wonderful authentic places: one of which is the “LA TCHAVANA” farmhouse.

This is where our cows and sheep graze every day, in complete freedom and fed only on natural, unprocessed products. Free-range growth is a guarantee of healthy production, it is a quest for excellence.

OUR HISTORY

Since 1946 we have been combining tradition and modern technology to offer you unique food products of indistinguishable quality. Products where the raw materials are selected, and the business follows high standards and the experience of several generations.

The maturing of our products takes place in environments made of stone, wood and natural mountain pasture spring water. This place, which can be visited, is called “CROTTA DE METSAN” and is “Europe’s highest cellar”, as well as being the jewel in our crown, allowing the raw material to mature perfectly thanks to a constantly humid temperature.

Our Alpine pasture cheeses of both Bovine and Ovine production, accompanied by cured meats, meat and polenta, agrigelato ice cream, yoghurt and much more, all produced by hand.

Regional and never mundane products such as Bon Bleu di Pecora sheep’s milk cheese, Neige de Brebis, or the eternal challenge between Fontina DOP d’alpeggio and Gran Gessato d’Ayas.

We’ll let you in on a secret: our cows, of the Valdostana breed, and our sheep, which we personally milk, feed exclusively on fresh grass and flowers; this is what allows us to obtain a fragrant milk with unmistakable characteristics that are considerably above average.
